ID_Frankfurt e.V. is looking for a management team to lead the next edition of the Implantieren Festival!
Implantieren:
The Implantieren Festival celebrated its first edition in 2013 and takes place every two years in Frankfurtand surrounding cities. Over time, the festival has opened up many spaces for the independent scene and tried out different approaches: In 2013, the focus was on the Naxoshalle, in 2016 on municipal institutions in Frankfurt, in 2018 and 2020 the focus was on site-specific works in Frankfurt, Offenbach and Hanau, and in 2022 and 2024 the focus was on longer-term practices and workshops in Frankfurt, Neu-Isenburg and Wiesbaden. The festival is meant to provide a platform for artists who live and work in Frankfurt and the surrounding area.
The program should include new productions from various fields of the performing arts (performance, dance, theater and inter/transdisciplinary approaches). The curatorial process for the festival is determined by the festival management team. National and international collaborations are possible but should not be the main focus.
The festival has been repeatedly supported by the Cultural Office of the City of Frankfurt, the Hessian Ministry for Science and Art and the Kulturfonds Frankfurt Rhein-Main. The financing for each festival edition is secured through applications prepared by the respective festival management submitted to the aforementioned institutions and other possible funding institutions. Implantieren is part of the nationwide FestivalFriends network, which facilitates exchange with other independent performing arts festivals (including those in Stuttgart, Munich, North Rhine-Westphalia, Chemnitz and Hamburg).
The festival is supported by ID_Frankfurt – Independent Dance and Performance e.V., a non-profit association that acts as a network for the self-organization of the independent scene in terms of cultural policy advocacy.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for a team that wants to lead the upcoming edition of the festival in late summer 2026. The team should bring experience and/or curiosity to the table. The responsibilities of the management team include curation, production and public relations. It is important to ID_Frankfurt that these three areas are considered from the very beginning of the application and conception process. In addition, the team is responsible for submitting applications to finance the festival with deadline starting in Fall 2025. ID_Frankfurt is endeavoring to make a fee possible for the application-writing working period. We assume a workload of about two weeks fulltime for a maximum of 3 people. People from the association and the management team of the past edition will
accompany the process and be available to answer questions.
Deadline: May 19, 2025
On April 8 at 7pm, there will be an info evening at Z – Zentrum für Proben und Forschung (Schmidtstraße 12, 60326 Frankfurt.) All are invited including people who have a vague interest in the festival but are not already part of forming a team. (Online participation is possible, please register by email at
amelia.uzategui@idfrankfurt.com).
