OPEN CALL IMPLANTING & friends: Visit

In 2020, the performance festival IMPLANTIEREN will for the first time give freelance dance and performance artists* from Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden-Württemberg and the Rhine-Main region the opportunity to visit the fourth edition of the IMPLANTIEREN festival with a scholarship.

At the IMPLANTIEREN& friends: visit, a total of six invited artists* will have the opportunity to explore the local performance scene. They will come together as a group at breakfasts, social program events, and performance visits, sharing experiences and exchanging ideas in a workshop. In addition, they will be brought into contact with actors and organizers of the local scene.

The workshop program of this year’s & friends: visit focuses on site-specific work and questions the possibilities of solidarity between art and urban activist struggles.

Conditions of Participation:

All freelance artists* of the independent performing arts who reside in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, North Rhine-Westphalia, Frankfurt Rhine/Main and Baden-Württemberg and have the time and interest to participate in the IMPLANTIEREN Festival from September 3 – 6, 2020 are eligible to apply.

For the participating guests from Hamburg, Munich, North Rhine-Westphalia, Berlin and Baden-Württemberg, travel costs as well as accommodation will be covered. Furthermore, all selected scholarship holders will receive an expense allowance of 150 euros per person.

All participating artists will be accommodated in the same hotel during the festival and will receive two free tickets per festival day.

Application procedure: We ask for a short biography and a short explanation (max. 800 characters) why the participation in the IMPLANTIEREN Festival is attractive for your own work.

The association of regional festivals of the independent performing arts, consisting since 2016 of the Performing Arts Festival (Berlin), FAVORITEN (NRW), Hauptsache Frei (Hamburg), RODEO (Munich) and 6 tage frei (Baden-Württemberg), and since 2018 the IMPLANTIEREN Festival (Frankfurt / RheinMain), connects contemporary performing arts from Germany’s metropolises with the Festivalfriends program. The aim is to strengthen the exchange and networking of the independent performing arts within the country, to provide incentives for cross-regional touring of existing productions and to create rehearsal and production opportunities for new works.

The IMPLANTIEREN FESTIVAL is organized by ID_Frankfurt Independent Dance and Performing Arts Frankfurt.
